 With multidisciplinary training on  pharmacological and chemical evaluations of natural products, Dr Solomon Habtemariam has over 25 years of experience in the field. His consultancy areas include:

• BIOASSAYS:- all aspects of pharmacological assays that one should consider to provide scientific evidence for addressing the quality, safety and efficacy issues. We are particularly keen in developing in vitro bioassays using protein and/or cell-based systems. Our priority diseases of interest include, cancer, inflammation, infection and immunity, chemoprevention and reactive oxygen species-mediated pathophysiological disorders.

• PHYTOCHEMISTRY:- all aspects of phytochemical evaluations and standardisations of crude drugs, essential oils and purified plant-derived products. This area includes the extraction, purifications/isolations, standardisations and identifications of natural products.

• SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION:- we provide a comprehensive and most up-to-date scientific information on crude and purified natural products (e.g.. plant-derived secondary metabolites).

• EDUCATION & TRAINING:-   lectures, workshops and hands-on training on all aspects of the above mentioned natural products and/or pharmacognosy areas.

We also run a range of  herbal medicine standardisation and quality control services.
